About the job

As a trainee in IT resilience and preparedness, you will be part of the IT security unit's work to strengthen the entire authority's resilience. In close collaboration with the operations, the teams deliver ready-made solutions that simplify for millions of individuals and businesses. Our systems contribute to a well-functioning society by creating conditions for, among other things, taxation, population registration, democratic elections, crime fighting, and international cooperation.

The Swedish Tax Agency's IT trainee program is in its fifth year, and we are now planning for the next start, where we want to hire up to 20 trainees in three different locations. During the program, you will gain knowledge about the Swedish Tax Agency's operations and build on your experience. You will have an individual development plan that is followed up and revised during the program period so that you can create the best setup based on your conditions and the needs of the operations. You will have an experienced mentor as support and sounding board. The trainee program lasts for 12 months, and your everyday life consists of practical training, education, theme days, and workshops, alongside working in the team. The program's structure is carefully designed to give you the best start to your career. Of course, the program begins with a kick-off.

In the role, you will be responsible for developing and managing continuity plans and preparedness routines for the IT operations. You will support the work with risk analyses and impact analyses related to IT systems, suppliers, and infrastructure. Furthermore, you will plan and lead exercises while contributing to learning and improvement. The tasks also include helping to document and follow up on IT resilience goals and recovery times (RTO/RPO), as well as collaborating with other functions (e.g., information security, operations, civil preparedness, and crisis management). Participation in the development of overarching governance, methods, processes, and for cybersecurity and resilience is also part of the role's responsibilities.

As a trainee in IT resilience and preparedness, you will use your problem-solving skills to create systems that facilitate everyday life for many. In our large IT department with nearly 1500 colleagues, you have the opportunity to develop while contributing to societal benefit. You belong to the IT security unit in the IT department located in Sundbyberg.

About you

In this job, you should:

  • be a team player and ensure both the group's and your own performance

  • express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and communicate in an engaging manner.

You should also have:

  • a current or recently completed relevant education in, for example, computer science, systems science, political science, or as a civil engineer in IT (at least 180 credits) from a university or college with graduation from 2024 or later, but no later than August 2026
  • relevant experience in cybersecurity or information and IT security from your studies
  • relevant experience in the work of preparedness authorities or total defense issues from your studies.

Good to know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period.

An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
